Wanderer Darcy on mark in her debut

IN the the Women’s Scottish Hockey Cup, Dundee Wanderers had a 5-0 win over MCC Western with goals by Amy Snell (2) Charlotte Watson, Heidi Sampson and Darcy McDermott. It was Darcy’s first-team debut.

Grove II lost 2-1 to Highland.

In the men’s District Cup, Gordonians II had a 5-1 win over Menzieshill II.

In the Women’s District Cup, Monarchs lost 6-0 to Glasgow University II, Hillhead II had a 3-1 win over Perthshire II and Madras had an 11-0 win over Aberdeen University III.

In the Men’s Reserve Cup, Dundee Wanderers IV lost 12-2 to Grange IV.

The next round of the cups plus the Plate event is scheduled for October 24.

Some University games are on this weekend, including Glasgow v St Andrews in Division Two and Stirling v Strathclyde in Division Three on Saturday along with Edinburgh III v Glasgow II in Regional Two.

There is, however, a near full Ladies National League programme with Midlands involvement in Division One with Western Wildcats v MJV Dundee Wanderers at Auchenhowie. Though no Grove-Menzieshill game is listed, Edinburgh University I take on Clydesdale and Hillhead face Grange.

Division Two includes St Andrews University v Merlins Gordonians and Aberdeen University v Dundee University.

In Championship One, Grove II visit Edinburgh University III on Sunday while Championship Two includes Erskine SM II v Perthshire I and Kinross I v Dundee University II.

There is a full Midlands ladies fixture list for Divisions One and Two. For the men, the only listed game is a St Andrews University II v Dundee University game on Saturday.

The men’s leagues are back in action on the 30th of this month but there are few ladies National League games due to girls interdistrict events.
