Full-strength Stars are hoping to ‘steel’ a win

-

DUNDEE Stars face Sheffield Steelers tonight (7.30pm) in Yorkshire in an Elite League ice hockey game.

Stars go into the game on the back of a 7-5 win over Fife Flyers on Sunday but Steelers also recorded a big win on the same night, beating Guildford Flames 7-1 in Guildford.

Dundee will be at full strength for the match and know they will have to be at their best to come away with full points.

Sheffield lost their opening league fixture to Cardiff Devils at home by 4-3 after overtime but got back on track with that win over Flames and they will be looking to follow up with another victory.

Stars’ Jimmy Jensen hit a hat-trick against Fife and coach Omar Pacha will be hoping he can repeat that tonight.

However, Stars lost three finalperiod goals that brought Flyers to within two of them and Pacha will also be looking for his charges to play for the full 60 minutes.

He said: “Sheffield are a strong team and it is always a challenge going into their barn for a game.

“However, we will go there, focus on our game and cut down on the mistakes we made on Sunday.

“If we can do that we will certainly be in with a chance.

“There were a lot of positives to take from the two games at the weekend and we had a good practice yesterday.

“The players know what is expected of them.”
