Kamara may face old adversary tomorrow

-

Kamara signed a two-year contract — and he’s keen to repay the manager’s faith.

“Neil McCann has given me belief and confidence. He has brought me in and is playing me regularly in the first team.

“It was a big decision to move up to Dundee from down south but I made the leap and it has worked out well.

“I’m happy at Dundee and enjoying the whole experience. I like living in the city.

“I’m playing at a good level and there is more to come from me.”

A good show against the star-studded Celtic midfield will not only aid Dundee’s cause on the night but also enhance Kamara’s chances of being selected for the full Finland international side.

He has already been an unused substitute and Finland national team boss Markku Kanerva will be eyeing his progress with interest.

There will be a big crowd at Dens tomorrow but t hat won’t faze Kamara — in fact he will relish the experience.

He commented: “I played in front of a full house when we lost to Rangers at Ibrox a week past Saturday and it could be another full house when Celtic call tomorrow.”

The quiet-spoken midfielder admits the tie against the Hoops will be “the biggest I’ve played in” and the fact it’s on TV will give his folks down south the chance to tune in and watch him in action.

He continued: “Hopefully, I’ll play a major role.”
