Easton thanks Saints support

-

ST JOHNSTONE defender Brian Easton has come out in praise of the club’s fans for their backing against Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday.

He commented: “We got brilliant support, It was great. I hope they keep that level of backing up.”

Like ever yone else connected with the club, Brian was very disappointed at the 3-2 loss, Saints’ first in the league this season.

“We kept going throughout the match but, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough,” he added.

“We were on a good run and it is disappointing it has now come to an end.

“However, we are looking to bounce back when we face Hamilton at home on Saturday.

“We are reasonably pleased with our start with wins over Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Partick, draws against Celtc and Hibs and just the one defeat from Dundee.

“Results like the one against Dundee will happen but we hope not too often.

“We h av e a good, experienced squad who are now totally focused on what is a big game for us at home to Hamilton on Saturday.”

Despite t aking knocks against Dundee, Denny Johnstone and Michael O’Halloran are expected to be fit enough to face Hamilton. Murray Davidson, who missed the Dundee game due to illness, is also likely to be in the squad.

Meanwhile, there is not so good news regarding Keith Watson who is on loan at Hartlepool United.

The full-back has seen his career badly interrupted by injuries and has now suffered another.

He faces an anxious wait before the extent of damage to his knee becomes clear after going off towards the end of the non-league side’s 2-1 victory at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Hartlepool boss Craig Harrison said: “The medical staff will assess it and we hope it is not a bad one. Keith has been immense for us.”
