Hat-trick heroine nets a last-minute leveller

-

DRYBURGH girls all did well at the weekend.

Their 12s faced Letham 13s at Lochee Park in a superb match which ended 5-5 after Kiara Moran scored a lastminute leveller to secure her hat-trick. Skye Middleton and Katie Shaw also netted.

The 13s lost 2-0 to DUSC 13s in an entertaining match at Lochee with stand-in goalkeeper Natasha Keir playing very well.

Dryburgh 15s travelled to Montrose and put on a fantastic show to win 9-0 with Rachel Keenan, Gabrielle Watt, Nyla Jay Murphy, Marcy Docherty, Lauren McCabe, Amy Reilly and Shannon MacDonald all scoring.

Sunday saw Dryburgh’s final game of the weekend and their 17s winning 3-0 against Westdyke at South Road.

Nyla Murphy opened the scoring with a composed finish.

Left-back Bethany McDonald then drove forward in midfield and sent a thunderbolt past the Westdyke keeper from 30 yards.

Amy Reilly then added a third towards the end of the first half. Some nifty footwork on the wing saw her create the time and space to curl in a lovely right-foot strike.

It was really pleasing to see six of Dryburgh’s U/15 squad get 17s game time and perform very well in a match which saw Burgh go second top of the league.

The 10s played Arbroath CSC for the first time in Arbroath with both teams impressing.

The U/11s had a cracking game against Jeanfield in Perth with both sides playing some great football.
