Killie draw decent for Dark Blues
SATURDAY’S point at Killie was a good result for Dundee — anything picked up on the road should be welcome.
The fact, though, that boss Neil McCann (above) wasn’t happy with his players shows where he expects his team to be.
If you can sort your home form and pick up bits and pieces away then you’ll be OK.
Making it three league games unbeaten and two home wins on the bounce will be tricky, though, with Hearts in town.
They’ll have had a couple of weeks under the stewardship of my old gaffer Craig Levein.
They didn’t get a good result at the weekend but another week under Levein will have them in a better place, defensively anyway.
That’s something Dundee are needing, especially against teams like Hearts that don’t give too many soft goals away.
You can see the Dark Blues have been working on things defensively but, when goals are short up top, it becomes so important.
This weekend will be a big indicator of where Dundee are this season.
TURNING out in a charity match at the weekend was fun but a bit frustrating. We raised good money for local hairdresser Rhys Davidson’s charity work but my back and knee are making things tough these days. That didn’t stop me wiping out the young lad playing for nutmegs, though!
