HEARTSTART Discovery is offering two-hour training sessions in emergency life support t o people a c r o s s Ta y s i d e n e x t month.

The sessions, which are free of charge, require no previous medical knowledge and will provide locals with the skills that could potentiall­y save someone’s life.

Helen Brady, Heartstart Discovery coordinato­r, stressed the importance of learning such life-saving techniques.

“Emergency life support skills really do save lives, so please consider registerin­g for a session today,” she said.

“A Heartstart session could prove to be one of the most important training sessions you have ever undertaken in your life.

“So, go along — you can make a difference.”

The training programme covers a wide range of scenarios and what to do in them, including caring for an unconsciou­s person who is breathing, how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and helping someone who is bleeding badly.

Sessions are taking place in Dundee, Blairgowri­e, Per th, Carnoustie and Montrose on dates throughout October.
