’Port boss seeks an improvement

-

TAYPORT manager Charlie King was bitterly disappointed with last Saturday’s Scottish Cup defeat by Cumbernauld and will be looking for a big improvement at Arniston in the Premier League.

King showed his displeasure at the performance, saying:“I’m afraid the players let the club down in the Scottish Cup.The spark was missing.

“The players have to stand up and be counted, starting at Arniston tomorrow.”

King has boosted his squad with the signing of Kadil Kamela.

Downfield are also in Lothian territory with a trip to Whitburn. Manager Paul Marr should have a full pool available.

The Spiders have placed Kieran Small on the transfer list and interested clubs should contact Paul Marr on 07703 601635.

St Andrews travel to Bathgate with boss Craig Morrison hoping lessons have been learned from last week’s disappointing Scottish exit at Premier League strugglers Arniston.

In addition to the still-sidelined Rhory Mooney, Derek Wallace is unavailable.

After last week’s cup defeat at Rutherglen, Kirrie Thistle are away again, with Dunbar their destination.

As their new management team look for their first win, Chris Kettles is in sole charge, while Ralph Brand is on holiday. John Farquharson is available, despite last week’s red-card, but both Greg Fairweather and Adam Braid are doubtful, while David Geekie and Davie Millar are still out with long-term injuries.
