Festival lines up film fun for all the family
THE line-up for this year’s Discovery Film Festival has been announced, which will see films from around the world screening in the city.
Now in its 14th year, the annual celebration of young people’s cinema will once again take place at Dundee Contemporary Arts from October 21-November 5.
The festival will open with the city premiere of Israeli film Abulele, a happy story about a young boy and his furry monster friend that has been described as having echoes of Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster ET. Abulele will screen at 3pm and is suitable for children aged eight and over.
Organisers have highlighted Discovery’s suitability for the whole family, with a specially curated range of films for children on offer during the three-week celebration.
Mike Tait, festival producer, said: “We’ve spent a thrilling 12 months searching across the globe for the best new films to bring back to Tayside and the most exciting part is always seeing the reactions of our young audiences to these cinematic gems. It’s fascinating to see which films will generate the biggest buzz.
“We look forward to welcoming all the audiences who will have the chance to make their own minds up.”
