Backing for festival
The event — which has existed in its current form for a decade — runs from March 4 until March 17 next year, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8.
The organising team has already recruited some of Dundee’s top attractions for 2018 to celebrate 100 years of women’s suffrage and the future of women in the city.
Prue Watson, chairwoman of the festival’s board, said that applications to have events included in the programme are being accepted until Friday November 3.
She told the Tele: “The theme of the festival is ‘Vote for the Future’ because we’re reflecting on 100 years of women’s suffrage and it’s also the Year of Young People in Scotland.

Previous years have seen talks, tours workshops and even plays celebrating women in Dundee.
New to the festival’s programme are the Dundee Museum of Transport, the V&A Dundee’s community outreach team and Dark Dundee, who will be hosting special walking tours.
Prue added: “The festival is a way to meet women across the city that you wouldn’t have met otherwise, and an opportunity to find out what’s going on in Dundee.
“Things have come far but there are still enormous issues for women today.
“But we’re hoping to have both a lighter side and a more serious side to the event.
“If anyone would like to get involved I would encourage them to do so.
“If anyone would also like to join the board as an active member we would like it if they got in touch.”
