-

ST JOHNSTONE’S experienced midfield man Chris Millar is hoping to keep his place for Saturday’s away tie against Hearts at Murrayfield.

The former Morton player has been out of the Saints first-team recently but was brought back in for the 3-0 home loss against Rangers on Friday night.

“I w a s , n a t u r a l l y, delighted to be back in the first-team,” said Chris.

“During my time out I have kept my head down and worked hard and I was happy to come in and play my part against Rangers.”

Chris was disappointed Saints lost but felt he did well for the 70 minutes he was on the park.

“O u r g a f fe r, To m my Wright, put out an attacking formation and we were well in the game for quite a long time,” Chris added.

“It was one of our best displays of the season, night and day from our 3-0 loss away to Aberdeen.

“We could have defended their first goal better and Rangers took their chances.

“The dismissal of Steven Anderson was a massive turning point

“Now it is important we bounce back against Hearts and we have the character to do so.”

Saints are without the suspended Anderson and Richard Foster f or t he Hearts game but Michael O’Halloran, who couldn’t play against his parent club Rangers, and Blair Alston are available. Alston has been out injured for a spell but is now OK.

Meanwhile, there is Development League action at McDiarmid Park tonight as Saints U/20s welcome Ross County.

It’s a 6pm kick off and admission is £5/£2 and free to Saints season ticket holders.

Saints l ost t heir l ast McDiarmid Park U/20 game 4-2 to Hearts but are hoping for better luck tonight.
