Only Scots venue for Nutcracker
THE most famous ballet in the world i s coming to Dundee next month.
The Nutcracker will be performed at the Caird Hall on November 9 by the Russian State Ballet.
The Caird Hall will be the only venue in Scotland to hold the performance on the show’s current UK tour.
There is an impressive cast and a live orchestra which includes more than 30 musicians taking part in the production.
The ballet has long been regarded as a “timeless Christmas classic” and is something the whole family can enjoy.
A spokesman for Leisure and Culture Dundee said: “Snow flurries, sweets, princes, magic, love, victories and defeats, and Tchaikovsky’s rousing score, are j ust some of the ingredients that will be brought together by this renowned Russian State Ballet.
“The Nutcracker continues to capture the hearts and imagination of different generations from all over the world. It is a truly captivating piece of theatre.”
Producer Alexej I g n a t ow, o f A m a n d e Concerts Ltd, who has coordinated the UK tour, said: “We are constantly on the l ookout for new challenges, to ensure that our opera and ballet audiences get a chance to experience a wide spectrum of various classic pieces.”
