Aggressive teen gets unpaid work

-

A TEENAGER who behaved in an aggressive manner before breaching his bail must perform unpaid work.

Connor Woods, 18, of Lawton Road, previously admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on July 17 in Hepburn Street.

He admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner towards the woman, as well as removing her phone from her before kicking and damaging doors.

Thereafter, on August 9, Woods breached the terms of his bail conditions by entering Hepburn Street.

Sentence had been deferred on Woods for the production of social work reports.

The court heard Woods had recently lost his employment because of the court proceedings. Sheriff George Way decided to dispose of the matter rather than defer sentence any further.

He said: “At the end of the day, not only did he involve the public in his domestic affairs, which disturbs everyone’s peace, he then disobeys the court when he’s told not to.

“I am of the opinion the thing I should do is impose unpaid work, which he can get done while he’s looking for a job.”

Woods was sentenced to 95 hours of unpaid work to be c o m p l e t e d w i t h i n three months.
