Man dies in accident
Friends to stage event to celebrate Steven’s life
An Angus man has been killed in a motorbike accident in Thailand.
Steven Kerr was originally from Montrose but is believed to have been based overseas recently.
A Thai news organisation reported that Mr Kerr had died when his Yamaha NMax bike collided with a lamppost.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The 32-year-old’s funeral is set to be held today in Thailand.
A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said today: “Our staff have assisted the family of a British man following his death in Thailand.”

A report by Thai Visa News said the accident happened as Steven was heading towards the town of Pattaya, in the Sattahip district of Chonburi province.

The bike was found in a central reservation, near the Pattaya Elephant Camp, after the accident on Friday morning.
A celebration of Steven’s life is to be held at the Hillside Hotel, just outside Montrose, tomorrow.
People have been encouraged to come and share stories about Steven, a dad with a “young family”.
Those who knew him have been urged to give the former Montrose Academy pupil the “send-off he deserves”.
An online post said: “For friends and family closer to home, we have decided to organise a celebration of his life, which basically involves his friends having a drink and sharing some stories.
“People will be in the Hillside Hotel from 5pm onwards, so feel free to come along and give him the send-off he deserves.
“There’s no dress code and donations for his young family are welcome.”
