Repeat show would suit Spiders nicely

-

AFTER last week’s sterling performance against Bathgate, Downfield head for Dunbar in the Premier League and will be looking for a repeat performance.

The win over the Creamery Park outfit saw them leapfrog a number of clubs and they now sit in a much healthier position in the league.

Their opponents have struggled since being promoted last season, winning only once at home, and the Spiders will be hoping they can add to their misery.

Manager Paul Marr is able to name a full-strength pool.

It’s Tayport’s turn to face Bathgate this week.

Manager Charlie King was frustrated with the performance in the 2-2 draw against Whitburn last week.

He was pleased with the second-half fightback which saw them come back from two down but was less than happy with the cheap goals they gave away in the first half.

This is the sort of game they must win if they are to keep in touch with the leaders and King is able to list a full-strength pool for the trip to Creamery Park.

Defeats in their last two outings have pushed Kirrie Thistle into the bottom four ahead of their trip to bottom-of-the-table Arniston.

Although the Lothian side has yet to post a league win, recently they knocked St Andrews out of two cups and twice came back to draw with them last Saturday, so Thistle can take nothing for granted.

Three draws from their last four games has dented St Andrews’ promotion hopes, so boss Craig Morrison will be hoping they can get back to winning ways at Dalkeith Thistle, especially as t he Lothian side have lost four of their five home games.
