Hendry’s ready for Partick trip

DEFENDER Jack Hendry is available for selection as confident Dundee head for Partick Thistle tomorrow determined to chalk up a first away win in the Premiership this term.

The centre-half was forced off i n the narrow defeat at Celtic with a cut eye that needed stitches.

Boss Neil McCann believes it’s thanks to the swift actions of the club doctor the 22-year-old will be ready for the return trip to Glasgow.

Neil said: “The doctor did a remarkable job on him.

“I think had it not opened then he might have been in a bit of bother.

“But there actually isn’t too much swelling or bruising, so it’s l ooking good and he’s fit to play.”

Delighted as he was with the performance at Parkhead, Neil admitted a change in tactics tomorrow could see changes.

He’ll give nothing away prior to naming his team an hour before kick off, but fit again striker Marcus Haber has staked a strong claim for inclusion.

The Canadian scored in the Development League against Falkirk in midweek and l ooked good. While performances have been good of l ate, Faissal El B a k h t a o u i ’s g o a l at Kilmarnock a month ago was his sole strike in the last four games.

For the gaffer, tomorrow is about building on recent good work, including the performance at Celtic.

He admitted that’s given him a dilemma with the changes he could make.

“I didn’t have a failure in the team last week. I felt we operated very well and probably forced Celtic to kick it more times than they’ve done in a long time.

“So if I do make changes then it will be from the fortunate position of being able to do so in order to match up with each opponent.”

Jack Hendry is fit and ready to take his place in defence.
