ROUND-UP Plenty action as Dundee duo strike doubles

IN the men’s hockey Division One, Dundee Wanderers had a 4-4 draw against Edinburgh University.

It was all action and the students failed to score from an overtime penalty corner.

Kevin Wong gave Edinburgh the lead in six minutes. Callum Ross equalised as he also did in the third quarter after which Ross Glashan t wice put Wanderers i n front. The students levelled with only five minutes left.

Grove Menzieshil­l move up to the top four after a 4-0 win over bottom team Inverleith. They netted with goals by Hamish Rice, Olly James, Alex Blakie and Albert Rowlings.

A 1-0 win for Western over Clydesdale gives them top place on goal difference over Grange, who had a 3-0 success over Kelburne. Hillhead had a 4-0 win over Uddingston.

In Division Two, Perthshire’s 5-3 win over St Andrews University has them sitting comfortabl­e in the top four thanks to goals from Mike Robertson (3), Lewis Pike and Adam Czub. Under-strength Harris FP lost 9-0 to Glasgow University.

In Division Three, there were only two games with Monarchs losing 2-1 to Aberdeen GSFP.

Division leaders Aberdeen University had a 3-1 win over Stirling University.

Regional Division One saw Grove Menzieshil­l II lose 4-0 to Kelburne II.

In Regional Division Two, Dundee Wanderers II lost 5-0 to Inverleith II.

In t he Ladies National Division One, Edinburgh University move top on goal difference over Western Wildcats with a 3-1 win over Dundee Wanderers.

Wildcats lost 2-1 to Clydesdale and Grove Menzieshil­l sit third after a 2-0 win over Watsonians with goals by Sarah Jamieson and Nicola Skrastin.

Dundee University lost 5-0 to Inverleith in Division Two.

Grove II had a 3-0 win over Stirling University i n the Ladies Championsh­ip Division One with Ellie Stott, Amy Salmond and Lucy Smith scoring.

In Ladies Championsh­ip Two, scores included Grange II 1 Perthshire 2 and Kinross 2 Ayr 0.

Scores in the Midland men’s Division One included Perthshire II 19 Menzieshil­l IV 1, Menzieshil­l III 10 Perthshire III 2, Wanderers III 0 St Andrews University 5 and Monarchs II 2 Dundee University II 6.

Midland Ladies Division One — St Andrews University III 0 Blairgowri­e 1, Wanderers II 0 Madras FP 1, Dundee University III 1 Kinross II 5.

Division Two — St Andrews University IV 1 Grove Menzieshil­l III 2.

Midland Men’s Indoor Division One starts on Thursday at Douglas Sports Centre.

Dundee Wanderers I face Harris FP at 8.10pm followed by Harris FP v Menzieshil­l II at 8.45 and Wanderers I v Monarch I at 9.20.

Ladies Division One — Grove Menzieshil­l v Clydesdale and GHK v Dundee Wanderers.

Ladies Division Two — Dundee University v CALA, Granite City Wanderers v St Andrews University.

There are also Men’s Regional One and Two Divisions and Ladies Division One and Two games.
