A 56-year-old man who had been riding the motorbike died following the crash.

The Tele understands the other people involved in the crash escaped without injury.

Residents in the area spoke of a scene of “absolute mayhem” caused by the crash and warned other motorists to stay clear of the roads.

The road was closed for several hours, with traffic diverted by police officers through St Martins as investigators worked to establish the circumstances of the accident.

Officers were able to reopen the road at around 6.55pm.

“His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

Another accident happened on the same road not long after it had been reopened. No injuries were reported in the second crash.

A spokesman from Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that there was another road traffic accident on the A93, near Guildtown, at about 7.30pm last night.
