Lewis: We’ll bounce back

-

ABERDEEN have to quickly forget Wednesday night’s dismantling by Celtic to get back on track against Ross County, according to goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

The home side had no answer to the speed and movement of Brendan Rodgers’ team, who won 3-0 through a Moussa Dembele double after left-back Kieran Tierney had opened t he scoring in the first-half.

The convincing victory extended Celtic’s unbeaten domestic record to 61 games and took them three points clear of the Dons at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.

It was the first league defeat of the season for Aberdeen but manager Derek McInnes acknowledged the “huge gulf” between the two sides.

However, Lewis insists the Dons have to bounce back against the Staggies tomorrow.

The 30-year-old said: “It is certainly not the end of the season.

“We are only three points off the lead and there are a lot of games coming up that we need to bounce back in.

“They showed their quality but we need to make sure we are winning our other games as well and make sure don’t dwell on that too long.

“We have a massive game tomorrow. Both games are three points.

“If we get three points everyone will feel a lot better about themselves, so we need to work for that and make sure we are ready for it.”

However, Lewis admits Celtic have to be given due respect for their commanding win.

The former Peterborough and Cardiff player said: “You have to give credit to them, they played well.

“We maybe could have passed it better and played better ourselves but we were beaten by probably the better team.

“They popped it about nicely and created quite a few chances. It was a tough night for us.”
