McCann wants fast Dens start
DUNDEE manager Neil McCann wants a fast start from his side tomorrow in their crunch clash with Hamilton.
Three defeats on t he bounce has ratcheted up the pressure on the Dark Blues as they welcome Accies to Dens Park.
And the third of those losses, the midweek 1-0 defeat to Motherwell, stemmed from a slow start from his side when Craig Tanner grabbed the only goal of the game.
Neil said:“We had a really poor start which was very unlike us.
“I t ’s totally out of character, in my opinion.
“We had a gameplan and because we didn’t start right, Motherwell got a foothold in the match.
“Our tempo wasn’t right, I felt the application wasn’t the way it has been.
“We didn’t get going from the start and we needed to address that.”
The goal itself was also a source of frustration for the Dens gaffer.
“We l ost such a poor, sloppy goal,” he added.
“We l ost two headers which was really disappointing but we dropped the midfield runner.
“I’ve spoken t o t hem about the dangers of not winning the first header, then make sure you win the second and we’ve dropped the runner. “That’s disappointing. “I felt we didn’t trust our game a wee bit in the first half.”
“We didn’t start the game right, we paid the price for losing a sloppy goal and then you’re always up against it.”
Neil, t hough, i nsists there’ll be no feeling sorry for themselves at Dundee.
“There’s no time to dwell or feel sorry for ourselves because we’ve got to come in and recover for a real tough game against Hamilton coming up tomorrow.”
