Tommy is the best Saints boss

TOMMY Wright has been an­nounced as St John­stone’s most suc­cess­ful post-Sec­ond World War top divi­sion team boss as re­gards league games.

He has the best top league win per­cent­age, most points per game, and is the only Saints man­ager with a pos­i­tive goal dif­fer­ence.

So far, Tommy’s top divi­sion league record stands at 68 vic­to­ries, 35 draws and 62 losses.

Sec­ond in the list is Tommy’s pre­de­ces­sor Steve Lo­mas, then i t ’s W i l l i e O r m o n d , Pa u l Stur­rock, Derek McInnes, Sandy Clark, Alex Tot­ten, Bobby Brown, John McClel­land and Jackie Stewart.

Mean­while, Saints U/20s will face St Mir­ren U/20s at Kelty’s Cen­tral Park to­mor­row (2pm).

The game is be­ing played there due to McDiarmid Park be­ing used for the Scot­landUkraine U/21 fix­ture be­ing held there that night.

On Wed­nes­day night, the Tran­mere Rovers-Peter­bor­ough FA Cup re­play will be of in­ter­est to Saints sup­port­ers.

Three for­mer mem­bers of the McDiarmid Park squad, Gwion Ed­wards, Mar­cus Mad­di­son and Michael Doughty are set to line up for Peter­bor­ough.
