Lennon is Bully Wee manager

CLYDE have appointed former St Mirren boss Danny Lennon as their new manager.

The Ladbrokes League Two side recently sacked Jim Chapman and sit eighth in the table with two wins from their opening 12 games.

Lennon has managed Alloa, Scotland Under-21s and Airdrie — the latter two on a temporary basis — since St Mirren decided not to renew his contract a year after he led them to League Cup glory in 2013.

The 48-year-old had led Cowdenbeat­h to successive promotions before keeping Saints in the t op flight f or f our years.

Clyde chairman Norrie Innes said: “Danny, i n preparatio­n for his interview, attended the game against Stirling Albion and demonstrat­ed his strong desire for the job by presenting his own detailed match analysis.

“He has a very impressive record and a substantia­l skill set which is what we need to develop a stronger f ootballing structure and positive culture within the club.”
