Rep looking forward to more Sunshine

-

ONE of Scotland’s best-loved musicals is returning to Dundee for the first time in eight years.

Sunshine on Leith last visited Dundee Rep in 2010 and will return to the same stage next year.

The show, based on the hit songs of The Proclaimers, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

It was originally penned by Stephen Greenhorn for t he Dundee Rep Ensemble in 2007. This new production follows the highs and lows of Ally and his friend Davy as they return home to Leith from the army.

Families, friendships and life are not plain sailing in this funny and moving story about love and life.

Expect to hear a raft of hits from The Proclaimers’ extensive back catalogue including I’m Gonna Be (500 miles), Letter From America, I’m On My Way and, of course, Sunshine on Leith.

After touring several times, the film production was released in 2013 to critical acclaim. Directed by Dexter Fletcher, the film featured actors George MacKay, Kevin Guthrie, Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks.

The Rep performances will run from June 11-16. Tickets are available online at dundeerep.co.uk.
