Proposal for 465 homes

STANLEY has become the latest Perthshire community to be earmarked for a vast expansion.

It could double in size over a 14-year period if Fife housing group Muir Homes gains permission for its plan.

In the region of 465 new properties would be added all around t he village — eight miles north of Perth — in five phases.

A planning applicatio­n in principle for the developmen­t will go before elected members for the first time at a meeting of Per th and Kinross Council’s planning and developmen­t management committee tomorrow.

Council planners have recommende­d the planning applicatio­n be approved. Muir Homes would then give detailed plans at a later date.

Head of planning Nick Brian said: “The expansion of Stanley is a longstandi­ng proposal and is allocated i n t he l ocal developmen­t plan.The site is well placed to deliver a sustainabl­e community, serving as a well-connected satellite settlement to Perth.”
