Ukraine are too good

SCOTLAND U/21 manager Scot Gemmill admitted Ukraine were a “high-level team” after they defeated his side 2-0 at McDiarmid Park last night in a Euro qualifier.

The very i mpressive visitors netted at the end of each half, their team including players who perform at Champions League level and who have played for the senior Ukraine national side.

The young Scots tried hard and Gemmill added: “There was not a lot in it.

“The second goal came as we were pushing for an equaliser.

“We had chances but the ball was ricocheting around their six-yard box at times

“We faced an excellent team who have players who play at a very high level. Their touch was very good and their shape was flexible.”
