Former Nisa store to reopen under new management

-

A PROMINENT West End shop is set to re-open — nearly a year after its doors closed suddenly.

The former Nisa Extra store in Perth Road will reopen as Greens of Dundee at 10am tomorrow.

The shop is under new management as part of a franchise model from local business Eros Retail, which already runs a number of other convenience stores in the area.

The new-look store will be open from 6am to 1am seven days a week.

A spokesman said that the shop would offer daily essentials along with fresh coffee and innovative goods such as ‘fill your own’ olive oil dispenser, while the car park to the rear of the shop will be brought back into use.

The spokesman said that Greens would also be working with a large number of local suppliers, including bakers Fisher and Donaldson, to source produce.

Douglas Anderson, business development manager, said: “We are delighted to be opening the store to the community this Friday and hope they will enjoy the new-look store.

“We’ve incorporated some really innovative new ideas into the store and tried to ensure we cater for all the needs of both local students and the wider community.

“There will be a wide range of new lines introduced and we can’t wait to showcase these to customers”

Doubts over the future of the Nisa store emerged more than a year ago when the shelves were left bare for weeks — with locals complaining about a lack of products.

The store then closed and was said to be undergoing a rebrand at the turn of the year as signs were taken down — and the owner vowed to relaunch after a “nightmare” 12 months — but nothing ever came of it.

In March, plans were finally lodged by Eros to bring the store back into use.
