Double is a tangerine dream for United girls

-

HAVING won the League Cup, Dundee United SC Girls U/13 completed a double by winning the Tayside and Fife Regional Performance title.

They clinched it with a 1-0 win against Raith in Perth.

You couldn’t separate the teams in the first half as both created some excellent scoring opportunities.

United keeper Reagan Lafferty pulled off fantastic saves to keep the game at 0-0.

In the second half, United created the majority of the chances, Leah Cruickshank rattling the bar, Kerris Turner’s shot being tipped past the post and Sophie Hunt’s shot being parried.

In the 43rd minute, a great touch by Cruickshank dragged two players towards her before she slipped the ball to Heather Carr who scored.

United continued to dominate possession and the Raith keeper pulled off some fantastic saves.

Coaches Chantelle McKay and Danielle Geekie commented: “Credit is due to the girls who were only beaten twice during what has been a wonderful season for us

“They have shown pure fight and determination throughout the season.

“It’s not been an easy season but the girls have put 100% effort and showed they fully deserve to be double champions.

“They’ve been a pleasure to coach and be around and we are very proud.”
