Craig has praise for Tanser form

-

ST JOHNSTONE will once more be without injured left-back Brian Easton for Saturday’s home game against Kilmarnock.

However, Scott Tanser has perfromed admirably in his place and i s set to deputise again versus Killie.

Saints midfield man Liam Craig was impressed by Tanser’s showing in the 2-1 away win at Hibs.

Liam said: “Scott was arguably our best player, dealing well with Martin Boyle who has been i n great form for Hibs.”

Saints snapped a run of six games without a win with that success against the Easter Road side and Liam revealed the players were hurting just as much as the fans during that run.

“You could see what it meant to the supporters when we beat Hibs.

“We were hurting, too, prior to that result but showed our character against Hibs.”

Meanwhile, Saints leftback Cammy Thomson (17) is set to gain first-team experience. He has joined Stirling Albion on a development loan until January where he will play under the guidance of ex-Saints captain Dave Mackay, now manager of Albion.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone are delighted to announce the further development of their par tnership with Jeanfield Swifts Ladies.

They have entered an agreement which will see the senior Swifts Ladies team play as St Johnstone Women in the Scottish Women’s Premier Division Two campaign which gets under way in February.

Saints chairman Steve Brown commented: “I am very pleased to further develop the partnership and it is great that we will now have St Johnstone WFC.

“This seems like a very obvious progression.”
