10-year vision in spotlight
A 10-YEAR vision to build on the success of Dundee construction and i nfrastructure projects will be considered by the council’s policy and resources committee on Monday.
The Capital Investment Strategy links together a number of developments that will assist in policy areas like work and enterprise, children and families, healthcare and wellbeing and community safety and justice.
Future planning for the school estate, green spaces, housing investment, smart cities digital and stronger communities are among the areas under focus.
The council runs a fiveyear capital plan, with the current version sitting at investment levels of nearly £350 million. While including t hese details, t he Capital Investment Strategy illustrates the c o u n c i l ’s l o n g e r- t e r m thinking for programmes.
The document also details a number of projects which are earmarked to take place under the Tay Cities Deal i ncluding a Comics Centre, the redevelopment of DCA, an aviation skills partnership and the decommissioning opportunities being explored by the Dundeecom partnership.
Council l eader John Alexander said: “This strategy is a clear outline of the ambition we have for Dundee and illustrates how hard we are working to realise it.
“We are maintaining the regeneration of the city and ensuring all of our pupils are learning in quality surroundings.”
