Police appeal after three break-ins in neighbourhood

-

POLICE Scotland has appealed for the public to come forward if they have information about three break-ins.

The break-ins — which may be linked — happened in the Ancrum Drive and Tullideph Road areas of Dundee.

The first was to a lock-up in Ancrum Drive, which took place between 2pm on Monday November 27-4pm on Thursday November 30.

A white Lambretta moped — belonging to Shaun Baird, an offshore safety adviser — was stolen, which had the registration plate 124XUP when taken.

As reported in yesterday’s Tele, Shaun, 41, of Polepark, was l eft devastated at the theft of his prized Lambretta, which he had received as a gift.

The second break-in was to the garage of a house in Tullideph Road, between 2pm last Wednesday-6.45pm on Thursday.

A spokesman f or police said: “Fortunately nothing was taken, but damage was caused to the garage door by a crowbar or similar item.

“Finally, a shed in Ancrum Drive was broken into between 10pm last Thursday-8.30am on Friday.

“Two bikes were taken, and while one was recovered nearby, the other, a red and black Boardman bicycle, is still missing.”

The spokesman added: “Although we cannot be certain at this time if these crimes are linked, given their closeness to each other and the similarities between them, it is certainly possible that they are.

“If you have any information that could help us with these inquiries, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.

“Also, information can be given through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
