Residents want action on parking

-

RESIDENTS who live in Crescent Lane/Street have had the same battle with Dundee City Council over parking as people in Kinloch Park.

This has been going on for many years but we are now expecting changes.

I met two members of the city council’s roads and transportation department a few months ago.

There was mention of the car park at the bottom of Ferguson Street being made into a maximum two-hour stay.

This would mean folk going to the dentist, doctor or for a bit of shopping can get parked.

This car park is full by 8am with folk wanting free parking and walking into town for work.

Residents-only parking in the other areas was also mentioned. Not before time. People who park in our streets have no regard for the folk who live in the area now.

I also see few of them leaving their cars in the doctors’ car park at Wallacetown.

It is always the same cars every day so I sympathise with residents in the Ninewells area.

Keep pestering the council as I do until the problems in the Crescent Street/Lane are resolved. Words and empty promises are no use. The residents want action now. And to all those sneaky free parkers — we are watching you and taking registration numbers daily.

Unhappy resident.
