Could it be fun run for

- BY CALUM WOODGER

DUNDEE United will be doing as much travelling this festive period as Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve.

With three of four games away from home, Csaba Laszlo’s men will be hoping to fly back to Tayside with 12 points in their sack.

Maximum points from four tough ties would be a dream gift for the Arabs but a more realistic target may be eight and an unbeaten run to keep them in the Championship driving seat.

So, how can they do that? Tonight the Tele looks at their advent run-in?

Saturday, December 9 Greenock Morton v Dundee United

First up, United head west to take on a resurgent Morton side following three-goal winning-margins over Falkirk and Brechin in their last two.

United do, however, have a good record against Jim Duffy’s men, beating them 2-1 at home in September, and going unbeaten in the league against them last campaign.

Three draws and a win in regular season action, with that solitary victory another 2-1 success at Tannadice, but this could be a tricky away tie in testing conditions at Cappielow.

Both sides need a win to their keep promotion hopes on track.

Verdict: One point. Saturday, December 16 Queen of the South v Dundee United

A period of poor form has seen Queens drop out of the play-off spots.

The Dumfries side haven’t won in their last three with a heavy 3-0 defeat to Livingston and draws against Dumbarton and Inverness slightly stalling their season.

With a tough away trip to face Dunfermline before welcoming the Terrors to Palmerston, the Doonhamers could be at a low ebb.

There are, as we all know, no easy games in the Championship.

However, due to United’s 2-1 win against Queens in August and the need for wins under new manager Csaba, the Tangerines should be up for this one.

Verdict: Three points. Saturday, December 23 Dundee United v Livingston

United return to Tannadice two days before Christmas hoping to put a smile on the faces of the Arabs ahead of the big day.
