United have Csaba style

- By CALUM WOODGER

DUNDEE United midfielder Fraser Fyvie insists Csaba Laszlo has his men playing the way they should but it’s up to them to carry out his instructions on the pitch.

The 24-year-old was pivotal in United’s 2-1 win over Dunfermline on Saturday as he continues to excel in the holding-midfield role alongside captain Willo Flood.

The win, courtesy of a Scott Fraser brace, means the Tangerines are unbeaten in the three league games Csaba has managed since taking over.

And Fyvie coincidence.

“It’s been fantastic, the boys have really enjoyed it,” the former Aberdeen and Hibs man said.

“You’ve seen the reaction on the pitch and I think you see after the games the boys are happy to get the results in.

“He’s been positive with us, we’re really enjoying working under him and we need to keep winning games.

“It’s his job to help us do that and it’s our job to do what he tries to install in us during the games.

“It’s going good and we can only take it step by step and game by game.”

United face a tricky trip to Morton on Saturday, with the Greenock side brimming with confidence following two consecutive wins and a return to play-off contention.

Fyvie said: “Morton have been up there for the last few years. I think insists that is no they’re a strong, well-drilled side and it’s one we’re looking forward to.

“We’ll do our homework on them this week again, as we always do, we’ll try to work on our game, work on how to stop them and we’ll go there looking to get the three points.

“We need to turn up to every game, we need to get three points on the board each game, we’re under pressure to do that and that’s what we want to do as players.

“That’s what we’re going to try to do.”

“I think it’s going to be a tough game and Morton will want to win the game as well, they’ll be wanting to get closer to the top of the table.

“We go there and we know it could be an open game so we need to be aware of their strengths.”

The Tangerines will go into the fixture top of the Championship after Saturday’s win saw them propel above
