Laszlo seeking a cutting edge
DUNDEE United boss Csaba Laszlo has urged his players to be more clinical in killing games off.
The Tangerines held on to beat Dunfermline 2-1 on Saturday after a Declan McManus penalty pegged back a 2-0 United l ead courtesy of a Scott Fraser double.
And Terrors manager Csaba warned his players they were almost left ruing their toothlessness in front of goal in the first-half.
“It was a good day for the fans and a good day for the players, too,” he said.
“I have to say that it was a good quality game from both teams.
“I think Dunfermline they come out and tried to close the gap.
“Dunfermline is also a team which wants to be in the top and they know if they lose this game the gap will be bigger.
“They did everything, they come and they fight and made also, especially in the last 15 minutes, a lot of pressure over us.
“I am just a little bit sad about the first half. We had two, three, good chances that we didn’t use again.
“We come out i n t he second-half and I said to the players in the dressingroom ‘look in the first 20 minutes it will be a game that they come and they try to score but the place will still be free for us to score over the counter-attack’”
Meanwhile, Dundee United U/20s lost out 3-0 to Hamilton Accies in a Development League clash at Station Park last night.
Accies goals came from Lewis Cunningham (2) and Taylor Wilson.
