Man admits intending to commit theft
A MAN who breached a bail order curfew and intended to commit theft at t wo proper ties in Dundee will be sentenced in the new year.
Jamie Stewart, 21, of Gilburn Place, Bo’ness, near Falkirk, admitted a series of offences when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Stewart admitted that on December 4, he was found in the curtilage of a property in Kirkstead Drive in circumstances whereby it may be inferred he intended to commit theft there.
He also admitted that on the same date, he was found in the curtilage of a property i n Tw e e d Crescent, also in circumstances whereby it may be inferred he intended to commit theft there.
Stewart further admitted breaching a bail order curfew i mposed at Airdrie Sheriff Court, whereby he was not at his home address between 7pm7am onTuesday December 5 and was i nstead i n Charleston Drive in Dundee.
Sheriff Scott Pattison granted Stewart bail on December 6. He called for reports including a progress report on his existing community payback order and a restriction of liberty assessment.
The sheriff deferred sentence until January 3.
Not guilty pleas to two other offences of attempting to steal from a van in Yarrow Terrace and of stealing a moped from Tweed Crescent, both allegedly on December 5, were accepted by t he Crown.
