Keeping boss happy Scott’s only concern

- BY GEORGE CRAN

DESPITE attracting the attention of other clubs, Scott Fraser’s only concern right now is keeping the Dundee United fans — and his manager — smiling.

After putting in a Man-of-theMatch display against Dunfermline last weekend, it was revealed English sides — including Wigan Athletic — were keeping tabs on the 22-year-old Dundonian.

With his contract set to expire next summer, Fraser will be free to speak to other clubs in January but, at the moment, he’s only concentrating on keeping Dundee United top of the Championship. He said: “It doesn’t affect me. “I just keep doing what I’m doing, I’m playing well at the minute and I’m enjoying myself here under the new manager.

“He’s given me a lot of freedom to go and play, so I just let other people deal with that kind of stuff.

“If clubs are looking, it means we’re doing well — it would be a different story if nobody was interested in you, you’d obviously not be doing well at all!

“Like I said, though, I’m enjoying myself here and I’m enjoying playing in front of the fans at the minute, enjoying playing for the gaffer and with the boys, so long may that continue.”

Fraser is also planning to keep up his scoring spree if he can — if only to keep manager Csaba Laszlo off his back.

“It’s something I’ve spoken about before, I want to start adding goals,” he added.

“I think I create enough chances for my team-mates, so it’s about me now trying to score goals.

“The gaffer has been on at me since he came in — even after Saturday he still wasn’t happy with me, said I should have had a hat-trick or four!

“That’s good he’s always on me like that, it makes me strive to do better and he’s right — I felt I should have had my hat-trick.

“It was a good save from the goalkeeper but, watching it back, I think I should score it.

“If I go into the game tomorrow
