West End switch tie to Station Park

-

IN an effort to get their thrice postponed Scottish Cup third-round tie played, Forfar West End have switched their game against Shotts Bon Accord to Forfar Athletic’s artificial surface at Station Park.

In preparation for the tie, West End defeated Scone Thistle 3-1 in a midweek friendly on the St Andrews all-weather pitch. Manager Daryl McKenzie has a full squad available

Scone Thistle, meanwhile, are also at home in the ‘Scottish’ where they await Kilsyth Rangers. Hopes this tie will be played are bleak.

In the Super League, Jeanfield Swifts have a tough away fixture at title favourites Bonnyrigg Rose as underlined by Rose winning the Riverside meeting earlier in the season 4-1. Having said that, Swifts best results have been on the road.

Player-boss Ross Gunnion is without Christopher Scott due to work.

In the Premier League, Kirrie Thistle are down to play Haddington, a game they desperately need to win. Once again, the weather is the most likely winner of this contest.

Kinnoull are due to host top-of-the-table North End in the North League. This match has all the ingredients of an interesting encounter as the Perth side are three points behind the leaders.

Luncarty are another side challenging at the top and will be expected to beat second-from-bottom Newburgh.

Player-boss Jon Kelly is set to give Tony Holt, on loan from Jeanfield Swifts, his debut. However, Calum Kirkcaldy and Andrew Kirkcaldy are both out through injury.

If Brownlands Park is unplayable, the Bleachers will make every attempt to arrange a friendly game in order to keep their players match fit.
