Confidence high for trip to Ibrox

-

“IT was disappointing to lose at home to Aberdeen. We gave away two soft goals but have now just got to put that game to bed,” said St Johnstone midfield man David Wotherspoon as he looked ahead to tomorrow’s trip to Ibrox to face Rangers.

“We will take the positives from the Aberdeen game i nto the Ibrox match. We have nothing to fear really.

“We have beaten Rangers at Ibrox in recent times, I remember a League Cup win there, and we have also drawn against them at their place.

“I enjoy playing there. There’s a big crowd and a great atmosphere.

“Getting a good result there will be difficult but we have done it before and can do it again.

“We’re only two points off a top-six position and have won our last two games on the road at Hibs and Hamilton.”

Saints will be minus Michael O’Halloran as he can’t play against his parent club and they may also be missing Murray Davidson who was taken off with an ankle injury in the loss to Aberdeen.

The Perth side are also still minus long-term injured duo Aaron Comrie and Brian Easton.

St Johnstone this week completed the signing of striker David McMillan from Dundalk.

McMillan was a regular scorer for the Irish side but can’t play for Saints until January.

Meanwhile, Graham Cummins is being linked with a return to Cork City.
