Dee pair facing fitness checks

-

INJURED pair Jack Hendry and Roarie Deacon face fitness checks before Dundee finalise their team for t omorrow’s crunch meeting with Partick Thistle at Dens Park.

Defender Hendry and attacker Deacon failed to complete 90 minutes as the Dark Blues went down to Hearts at Tynecastle on Tuesday night.

Hendry was hurt in a late challenge from Cole Stockton just before half time and was forced off at the break after suffering double vision.

Deacon had to be substituted in the second half after taking a leg knock.

Having acted swiftly in each case to get them off, Dundee are hopeful both could make the clash of the top flight’s bottom two.

If Hendry doesn’t, Darren O’Dea could return to the starting line-up for the first time since his red card against Kilmarnock l ast month.

If Deacon misses out, either Faissal El Bahktaoui or A-Jay Leitch-Smith could come in.

With no Development League fixture this week, yesterday saw the Dark Blues take on city neighbours Dundee United in a closed-door friendly in St Andrews.

Manager Neil McCann used the 90 minutes to take a look at French goalkeeper Jeremy Malherbe.

He’s been on a prolonged trial at Dens Park and a decision on whether or not he’s offered a contract is likely to be made soon.

O u t - o f - f avo u r D u t ch winger Randy Wolters also got a run out.
