AN award previously won by Olympic Games swimming silver medallist Stephen Milne and European Indoor Championship athletics gold medallist Laura Muir will be decided early in the new year.
Nominations are now open for the 27th annual Perth and Kinross Sports Awards, including the Sportsperson of the Year.
People have until January 26 to put forward their suggestions for clubs, individuals, teams and events they feel deserve to be honoured for their achievements in 2017.
Organisers at Perth and Kinross Sports Council and Live Active Leisure are looking for nominations across 11 different categories, including the very prestigious Perth and Kinross Sportsperson of the Year.
The awards will be held at Perth’s Dewar’s Centre on March 16 with well-known sports broadcaster and journalist Jim Spence hosting the evening which celebrates the achievements of the area’s local sports people.
From local school teams to Olympians, individual coaches to volunteers, the Perth and Kinross Sportsperson of the Year awards recognises the huge wealth of sporting talent the region has to offer, and also celebrates the outstanding achievements of many of Perthshire’s local sports personalities and clubs.
The person or team nominated must be a resident of Perth and Kinross at least six months prior to the event or be affiliated to a club or sport in the region.
The sport must be officially recognised by sportscotland.
To nominate, please visit www.liveactive. co.uk/Events/sportsawards or pick up a nomination form which are available from any Live Active Leisure venue.
