Evening Telegraph (First Edition)

Make a loved one’s day with a personalised Tele

- BY DAWN MORRISON

FINDING the right Christmas gift can be a bit tricky.

But on Saturday, you’ll be able to snap up something which is sure to go down a storm — a customised copy of the Evening Telegraph.

Printed using state-of-the-art technology, each and every paper will carry a special masthead wishing readers a merry Christmas and carrying a name.

We will print dozens of the most popular readers’ names from across Dundee, Tayside and Fife — so you can pick out a paper which is unique to you or a person you love.

And even if you can’t find your own name, you can still collect a copy which wishes you, our “loyal customer”, best wishes this festive season.

Some will be ideal for mum or dad and other papers will feature terms of endearment.

The response to last year’s New Year initiative was phenomenal.

People hunted high and low at shops across the region to get their hands on a special edition of the paper.

Tomorrow is set to be no different — so make sure you get out early to buy your copy as they will be selling out fast.

And remember that the Weekend Telegraph is in shops in the morning — meaning you have all day to pick one up.

Evening Telegraph editor Andrew Kellock said: “Our personalised Teles have become a firm festive favourite over the past couple of years and are already a bit of a tradition for us and our readers.

“The technology we have available to us at our Kingsway printing plant is fantastic — it allows us to print something different on every individual copy of the newspaper, despite the fact we produce thousands of copies.

“The Christmas edition of the Weekend Telegraph will feature the usual great mix of local news, features and sport, as well as our Seven magazine complete with a great TV guide. “We hope our loyal readers enjoy their customised Teles and that they have a fantastic Christmas.” Discovery Print has used its Kodak Prosper S30 Imprinting System to individualise more than a million newspaper copies. Head of operations Guy Forester said: “Personalisation has now been used across the DC Thomson newspaper portfolio and is tried and tested.” Andrew Kellock
