Men to stand trial over ‘drug dealing’
FOUR men are to stand trial in connection with alleged drug dealing in Dundee.
Michael Murray, also known as Michael Carroll, 33, David Donaldson, 39, Lee Curtin, 41, and Donald Gray, 50, are indicted on the charges at the High Court in Glasgow.
It is alleged that the offences were committed in Dundee and elsewhere between February and October.
All four men appeared at a short court hearing yesterday to deny the charges against them.
Curtin, of Liverpool, is charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis, a Class B drug, in Raglan Street, on February 9.
The men are alleged to have been concerned in the supply of cannabis resin in Old Glamis Road, Beauly Avenue and Dunmore Street, all Dundee, in an unclassified Road in Burnbrae, Kinross, and in Westburn Crescent, Rutherglen, Glasgow, and elsewhere between August 7 and 31.
It is alleged that Murray, currently remanded in custody at HMP Perth, committed the offence after being granted bail on January 4 at Dundee Sheriff Court.
This was allegedly aggravated by his involvement in serious organised crime.
Between August 7 and September 28 this year, all four men are alleged to have been concerned in the supply of heroin.
They deny supplying the Class A drug in Beauly Avenue, Dunmore Street, Westburn Crescent, Hilda Road and Tynwald Place in Liverpool and elsewhere unknown.
Murray is also alleged to have aggravated the same bail order during this offence.
Gray, of Glasgow, is also alleged to have been concerned in the of supply of cocaine on October 13 in Muirbank Avenue, Rutherglen.
Lawyers acting for the men entered not guilty pleas to all charges during a preliminary hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Murray was ordered to remain in custody until he is due to return to the dock for trial.
Bail orders for Donaldson, of Aberdeen, Curtin and Gray were allowed to continue. Trial was set for March 23 at the same court.
