Over the festive period, Montrose lost 6-2 at home to Peterhead and drew 1-1 against Cowdenbeath.

“We lost four goals to set-pieces against Peterhead and that isn’t like us. Hopefully, that won’t occur again,” said manager Stewart Petrie.

“Annan are going well but we are also going along fine and we are looking to get back to winning.”

Montrose have vastly experienced central defender Michael Bolocheweckyj back in the fold.

After a l ong spell out injured, he was sent on loan to East Stirling but is now back at Links Park.

Ian Campbell is an injury doubt for the Annan game and Stewart is looking to get Ryan Ferguson and Danny Cavanagh out on loan to assist with their progress. Both have been out injured for a while.

Cammy Ballantyne, who was on loan at Montrose from Dundee United, has returned to his parent club.

“We wish him well,” said Stewart. “He really was absolutely brilliant for us.”
