Awards closing date near

THE closing date for applications for this year’s Dundee Musicians Award is Friday January 19.

Run by Leisure and Culture Dundee, the scheme offers grants of up to £500 to help meet the costs of creating new work in any genre.

This year, with the support of Dundee Place Partnership, it i s also offering the opportunity for Dundee-based musicians to apply for a place on the mentoring scheme.

The programme will support two successful applicants to develop and progress their creative practice over 12 months.

Past winners i nclude The Hazey Janes, The Mirror Trap, Fat Goth and Michael Marra.

Sinclair Aitken, chairman of Leisure and Culture Dundee said: “The Dundee Musicians Award has supported a wide range of projects since its inception in 2008.”
