Glen impresses in international

-

DUNDEE midfielder Glen Kamara impressed on his first international start as he helped Finland to a 2-1 win over Jordan.

The Finnish national side have been enjoying some warm weather training in the Middle East over the winter break.

Yesterday, they took in a friendly against the Jordanians in Abu Dhabi with Kamara patrolling the centre of midfield.

The 22-year-old, earning just his second cap, looked as assured in international company as he does every week at Dens Park.

Rarely conceding possession and beginning attacks for his side with precise passing, the former Arsenal man was in fine form before being replaced after 57 minutes by manager Markku Kanerva.

The Finns were already a goal to the good after Joona Toivio’s 35th-minute free-kick had broken the deadlock.

Shortly after Kamara’s exit, Akseli Pelvas made it 2-0 as they continued to dominate the contest.

Jordan, though, grabbed a goal back on 82 through Ihsan Haddad.

KAMARA will be back with the Dark Blues first team when they face Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup fourth round next Saturday.

There will be a deal for season ticket holders for the game with an adult ticket costing £15, O/65s and full-time students £5 and U/18s £4 providing briefs are purchased by 5pm on Friday January 19.

Otherwise tickets are £20 for adults, £10 for O/65s and students and £5 for U/18s.
