’Noull reeling as deadly Dokens hit eight

-

NORTH End and Violet continue to set the pace in the North League after both recorded victories over Kinnoull and Coupar Angus respectively.

The Dokens were in rampant form against the Perth side, scoring eight goals without reply and, after 11 victories in a row, they are going to take some catching.

Ryan Smith scored an early opener, then a quick double from Nathan Scott, one from a penalty, put the Dokens firmly in the driving seat.

Frankie Devine netted a fourth and there was still time for Scott to complete his hat-trick before the half-time whistle.

It continued to be one-way traffic towards the Kinnoull goal in the second half with Ryan Rigden and Gary Archibald adding two more before Scott completed the scoring with his fourth of the day.

Violet made a whirlwind start against Coupar Angus and were two up after 10 minutes.

Bradie Heggie headed home from a corner in four minutes, then a classy finish from the edge of the box from Cammy Black made it two.

In between the two Violet goals, Tom Casey thought he had equalised but it was ruled out for offside.

The Pansies then made sure there was no way back for the Foxhall Park club when Gavin Thomson fired home a third two minutes into the second half to get new manager John Dunn’s reign at the club off to a winning start.

RESULT of the week — Hats off to KIRRIE THISTLE for their 1-0 win over previously unbeaten Premier League leaders Musselburgh Athletic at Westview Park.
