Faddy is big fan of Saints’ Chris

-

FORMER St Johnstone player James McFadden believes Chris Kane has what it takes to be a hit at the club.

McFadden and Kane had been team-mates at QOS this season with Kane having been on loan there for the first part of the season and McFadden now having left the club.

Kane is now back with Saints along with defender Jason Kerr who was also loaned out to Queens.

McFadden said: “I like Chris.

“He struggled at first after coming in on loan but is now back to what he is good at, working hard and scoring goals. He has his belief back.

“Chris is a scoring threat and I think he will do well at Saints.”

The Perth men’s team boss Tommy Wright had no hesitation in recalling the pair.

He has already spoken of his high hopes for Kane and he said of Kerr: “Jason has a big future ahead of him.

“I’m told he has been the best centre-back i n the Championship and I know QOS manager Gary Naysmith believes that.”

Another player coming back to McDiarmid Park from a loan spell is striker Greg Hurst, who has netted five times in the 12 games he has played for East Fife.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone have received 70 extra tickets for Saturday’s away Scottish Cup tie against Albion Rovers.

Following an operational meeting with the League One club, it was agreed Saints would get the extra tickets after their original supply had been taken up.

These remaining tickets went on sale today at the McDiarmid Park ticket office.

Rovers will be minus Michael Hopkins and Alan Trouten for the tie. They were sent off at Forfar.
