Young prospect back in the fold

ST JOHNSTONE’S promising right-back Aaron Comrie could be back in the first team when Saints face Albion Rovers away in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

The youngster has been out for a couple of months with a hamstring tear sustained i n t he away league win against Hibs but has recovered and is back in training.

Richard Foster is suspended for the Rovers game and the league match away to Kilmarnock next midweek, so Comrie may come straight i nto t he starting line-up.

Brian Easton is suffering from a knock but it’s hoped he’ll be fit for the cup trip to Coatbridge.

Paul Paton is injured and likely to miss the Clifftonhi­ll tie

e will be out against Killie due to a ban and that is a match Murray Davidson also misses for the same reason.

Meanwhile, winger Craig Thomson has left the club with East Fife being a possible destinatio­n.

Saints have been involved in several ins and outs this transfer window.

As well as Thomson leaving, Ally Gilchrist has gone to Shamrock Rovers and Graham Cummins to Cork City.

David McMillan has come in from Dundalk and Jason Kerr and Chris Kane have returned from their loans at QOS,

Greg Hurst is back from his spell at East Fife but Mark Hurst is still with the Fifers, Cameron Thomson will remain on loan at Stirling Albion and Keith Watson is staying on at Hartlepool.

St Johnstone have taken attacking midfield player Erwan Maury on trial.

The 21-year-old is with Dijon in France.
