Forgotten duo on Pars’ radar

-

DUNDEE pair James Vincent and Kosta Gadzhalov are still of interest to Dunfermline boss Allan Johnston as he looks to bolster his play-off chasing squad.

The Dens Park duo have found first-team action difficult to come by this season with just five appearances between the two of them — all incidentally for Vincent.

That’s led to speculation over loan moves for both players and, earlier this month, East End boss Johnston revealed both Gadzhalov and Vincent were on his radar.

He has been asked once more about the two and says t he Pars are still looking at both as they search for quality to boost their squad.

He said: “They are two boys we have looked at but we’re looking at a few boys, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

“We’ve been trying our best to get players in — not just from Scotland but from other places as well — and it’s an ongoing process.

“It’s about getting the right quality i n because there’s no point in bringing someone i n who’s not going to be involved or who isn’t good enough to be here.

“We’ve already got a strong squad but we are a wee bit short on numbers. If we picked up a couple of injuries or suspensions then we’d be struggling, so we definitely need a bit of quality to come in and we’re trying.

“We need to strengthen a couple of areas and we’re working hard in the background to try and get those players we’re looking for.”

Vincent hasn’t featured under Neil McCann since the end of September.

Gadzhalov hasn’t featured at all for the first team this campaign.

The 28-year-old B u l g a r i a n ’s c o n t r a c t expires in the summer.
