Shock over death of man found in house
RESIDENTS have spoken of their shock after a man was found dead in a flat.
The grim discovery was made by a neighbour around 10am yesterday in a property in Invergowrie’s Main Street.
The man, who hasn’t been identified, is believed to be in his forties.
A woman who works in the Post House Coffee Co, which is below the flat where the man was found, said she first became aware something had happened around 11am yesterday.
She said: “I saw police and an ambulance outside and realised something had happened but didn’t know what.
“I saw the officers going into the flat upstairs.
“Later, I spoke to a neighbour who was quite pale and shocked and who explained that he had found the body. “The whole thing is very upsetting.” Two men who work in a shop across the street from the property in which the man was found said that people had been talking about what had happened when they came into the store. One of the men said: “We know where it happened but we don’t know who the man was.
“There were police and ambulance outside for some time.”
Another neighbour said: “I didn’t know the man — he lived in the flat by himself.
“I would see him going about but I never really spoke to him other than to say hello.
“It’s really sad that someone who is so young has passed away.
“Your thoughts have to be with his family at this time.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers had attended a property in Invergowrie following a sudden death.
The spokeswoman said: “Police attended at Main Street, Invergowrie, at 11am on Tuesday following the sudden death of a man in his forties.
“There are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
“As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 11.06am to attend an incident on Main Street, Invergowrie.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene.”
